Former Majority Leader of the Senate, Sen. Ali Ndume, has said his removal from the position was shocking especially as he had attempted resign three times for the sake of unity among the lawmakers.
Ndume, while raising a point of order during the plenary on Wednesday, decried his sacking without the opportunity of a fair hearing.
He said the announcement of the change of leadership by the All Progressives Congress caucus on Tuesday came as a shock.
He said members of the caucus should have made it known to him why they lost confidence in his leadership.
Ndume, however, thanked APC lawmakers for giving him the opportunity to lead them, while congratulating his successor, Senator Ahmed Lawan, on his appointment.
