Family Planning: C-KLEM unveiled as ambassador for NURHI.

AN upcoming artiste, Mr. Clement Uzoka popularly known as C-KLEM
has been announced as the advocate of the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI).

This was announced by NURHI, Oyo State Field Office at a ceremony held in Ibadan, the state capital on Monday.

Unveiling the artiste after he was adjudged as the winner in the keenly contested musical competition by panel of judges in Ibadan, NURHI State Team Leader, Mrs. Stella Akinso pointed out that the initiative was to empower young people who have talents which will also translate into campaign for family planning.

The winner, Clement defeated four other artistes among who were Ayobami Olaoluwa (first runner up) and Abel who took (3rd position) and two others who took forth and fifth positions.

“We are actually empowering young people because what has happened today you can see the talents, it is amazing, they came up with different flavour of the song.

“We are hoping that as we put this song in adverts, we are going to do jingles, we are still going to take them to the studio, we will get a consultant to fine tune what they have done here today so that people can listen to it and then imbibe the message of family planning”, Akinso reiterated.

She said the winner will be rewarded with cash and become the state ambassador of NURHI.

She added, ” the winner will take N200,000 cash which we give here, the second person N150,000 cash and the third person takes N100,000 cash and we give consultation prizes to forth and fifth.

“Definitely the winner will be our ambassador, he will be NURHI ambassador so his pictures will be everywhere.

“Sometimes ago, we did family planning song which was done by Tiwa Savage and P Square and we now find out that there is a need for local flavour because some of the things they said there they are a little bit for more of people in the city, it will be good for Lagos or Abuja, what we are saying is that a repeat to meet the needs of the people where we work particularly in Ibadan here so we now advertise, we put it on the social media for people to come and compete, we selected five out of so many, so we are here today to listen and for the people to vote.

Akinso while speaking on the success recorded declared, “absolutely yes, you recalled that in 2010 when we came in here Oyo State, CPR was 18 percent, in 2013, it was about 25 percent, right now it is about 36 percent in Oyo State. So now people are getting the knowledge and they are imbibing family planning. There is high intake.

In his reaction, Clement said he was happy to be part of the success story of NURHI in the state as he promised to put more efforts to use his music to promote family planning in the state.
